Rare shorts spanning and exploring the birth and early evolution of sound film.
The program included a live re-enactment of Lyman Howe’s 1897 “sound film” screenings, using period 78 RPM records played live on antique hand-wound acoustic phonographs, performed by Jeffrey Taylor and Robert Millis of Climax Golden Twins.
(A similar program was later screened in 2018.)
